07 SAAB 9-3 2.0T Traction control and ABS failure, how to fix
Forthe past several months I have been searching to find out why all of a suddenmy ABS, traction control, stability control, and check engine lights came on...Also,my LCD screen on the instrument panel will not register a reading for anythingdoing with MPG, distance, or DTE so this seems to be a related problem towhatever is causing the stability control system to fail. I used Tech2 scanner and pulled a P0501 enginecode, which is related to the vehicle speed sensors.
Iasked for help in SAAB forum and a member told me if the speedo was stillworking, then I could at least eliminate the rear-left sensor. Tech 2 scan tool will give more info onthe specific sensor that is causing the fault and that should further narrowyour search for the culprit.
Ifollowed his advice and check all of the wiring that runs to the sensors also.Tech2 then pointed me to the front passenger hub. I found bad wiring running tothe sensor that is integrated into the hub. Splicing in new wires and doing agood job of insulating the new wiring fixed my issues!!
